Elvis and Momma Baking

Elvis and Momma Baking

Since it is gloomy and kind of snowing out it has me in the mood to bake.  I want to go home and bake lots of treats with Elvis, to bad I will end up eating all those treats and they will all end up on my thighs but at least we will have fun making them.

Cake needs lots of color

But since it is not yet time to go home I will post pictures of a past baking experience when we made a rainbow cake.

This was a great rainbow and color lesson for Elvis and he did not know he was learning.

Spoiled Little Boy March 19, 2009

Elvis is one spoiled little boy and you could really tell this weekend.  We took him to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO and were we impressed.  This zoo was gorgeous and right off you get to go in and feed the giraffes. The walk way is closer to their heads so they come over and take the cracker right from your hand.  Check out this link for there live cam  We gave this a thumbs up and would definitely go again.

Next we went and picked up his cousin Luke for a boys night out at the Thomas and Friends live on stagethomaslivepage08smThere is a three year difference in the boys but they both had a blast and sat with their mouths open in awe  I could not figure out how the trains moved and the eyes and mouths were moving as well!

The next day as we were heading home we decided to swing by the Cave of the Winds. Elvis thought that it was Batman’s cave which made it more entertaining to him. He was also the entertainment for the tour group as well. He would say things like “Hurry guys, run for your lives” and “Whoa guys watch out” and then “Look Robins over there” .  He talked non stop the whole time and then once we sat him in the car he was out like a light, it wore him out being center of attention.

It just goes to show how much fun you can have discovering your own state. I had never done any of those things and it was even more fun to see it all in my sons eyes.

Swimming March 6, 2009

I can’t go a whole week with out posting! I have wanted to post all week.  My son has been doing some really cute art projects that went along with books that were read to him.  I got the art projects all ready for Elvis on Sunday and him and daddy have been doing one a day.  I wanted to post but have not got them off the camera yet.  Maybe next week. I was glad that they have enjoyed them because I enjoyed getting them ready and will have to do it again.  It made me feel as if I was there with him even though I was at work.

Elvis, Auntie Karie and I went swimming last Saturday and we had such a good time.  We had planed to go again this week but the wind picked up and it started raining today.  So unless things really improve over night I think we will have to go another day.  I don’t know whether I should wish for a nice day to go or for the rain because we have been so dry.
Elvis loves motorcycles right now so of course he spotted this fabric and had to have a shirt!  I made it with the same pattern that I made his Scooby Doo shirt and then I found a motorcycle applique at a Hobby Lobby when I was in Denver and put that on a pair of jeans.  He is very excited about his outfit and likes showing it off to people.
